Being a teenager or a young adult can be really difficult sometimes. It’s a period of huge developments and transitions. During these years, we start really figuring out who we are, what we want, and how to deal with the various challenges that life can throw our way. It’s no wonder that things can sometimes get off track! We can start to experience significant stress, anxiety, sadness, or other troubling feelings. Sometimes this can lead to unhealthy behaviours or habits. Other times as we learn to navigate these issues we can end up in huge conflicts with each other and with our families, friends, and loved ones.
The flipside to this is the opportunity to learn and discover ways of managing life’s challenges early on! My work involves learning what I can about where you are in life versus where you would like to be, and helping you figure out how to get from point A to point B. I believe in helping you to explore the ways in which you think, feel, and interact with the world around you. Sometimes that can involve sitting down with you individually, sometimes it can involve working with the whole family, but either way it involves creating a safe and welcoming environment for us to work together to figure things out!
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Theodore Roosevelt
